Trakm8 helps reduce congestion charge fines

Trakm8, manufacturers of complete fleet management solutions have recently launched their new suite of SWIFT fleet management packages. In addition, they have now announced a new option aimed at Fleet Managers who have the constant burden of remembering to pay congestion charges after their vehicles have entered the London congestion charge zone.

Failure to pay these fees in a timely manner is costing many fleet owners unnecessarily where they are unaware of a vehicle entering the zone or, simply forget to pay the applicable charges within the prescribed time. Companies can be charged up to £120 if the fine is not paid within 28 days.

Fleet Operators find it very difficult to identify which of their vehicles are at risk from receiving the fixed £120.00 penalty charge notice if the £8 charge is not paid by midnight the following day and they risk further problems of immobilization, vehicle removal, bailiffs and escalating costs if the fines are not paid promptly.

The new Trakm8 alerting feature ensures vehicles in danger of entering the London Congestion Zone are identified immediately with a real‐time alert which can be sent as an email and/or an alert within the Trakm8 SWIFT Fleet Management application. The vehicle position is constantly monitored using the global positioning technology ‘GPS’ and if the boundary of the congestion zone is breached the alert is sent.
